Description
Following the public debut of the QCW-05 submachine gun, Jianshe Industries (Group) Corporation, under the China South Industries Group Corporation, presented an export version designated the 'JS 9 mm' at the 2006 MILIPOL expo. This firearm is also known by the designation CS/LS2. Development was undertaken by Jianshe Industries (Group) Corporation of Chongqing.
The design of the JS 9 mm is internally identical to the QCW-05. It operates as a select-fire, open bolt, blowback weapon and features a screwable suppressor. Chambered for the 9×19mm round, it is specifically capable of using the indigenous armour-piercing 9×19mm DAP92-9 round, and can also utilize other 9×19mm cartridges, including 9×19mm Parabellum. Compared to the QCW-05, the JS 9 mm is slightly smaller and lighter. It is designed to accept widely used MP5 magazines in addition to its standard double-column, 30-round box magazine. Lacking the carry handle found on the QCW-05, the sight bridge is mounted on a Picatinny rail atop the receiver and is removable, allowing for the installation of various aiming equipment. The JS 9 mm features three firing modes: automatic, semi-automatic, and safety.
The JS 9 mm is designed for export to international markets, intended for various police and law enforcement agencies, and is not utilized domestically by military or police forces within its country of origin.
The JS 9 mm is known to be in service with PRC, Laos, and Mali.
