Guatemalan Air Force
The Guatemala Air Force, also known as the Fuerza Aérea Guatemalteca (FAG), is the aerial warfare branch of the Guatemalan Armed Forces. It was officially established on June 20, 1921. The main objective of the FAG is to protect Guatemalan airspace, support ground forces, and conduct national security operations. The force primarily operates with a fleet of American-made aircraft, including helicopters, transport planes, and fighter jets. The FAG has participated in various missions, including border patrols, counter-narcotics operations, search and rescue missions, and disaster relief efforts. In addition, the air force provides transportation and logistical support to the Guatemalan government. Over the years, the FAG has undergone several upgrade programs to enhance its capabilities and maintain its operational readiness. It operates from several airbases across the country, with its headquarters located in Guatemala City. The FAG collaborates with other countries through bilateral agreements and participates in international exercises to strengthen its capabilities and maintain good relations with neighboring states.
