Antigua and Barbuda Air Force

The Antigua and Barbuda Air Force is the aerial warfare branch of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF), responsible for the country's airspace protection and national security. Established in 2005, it is a relatively new military organization. The Air Force operates with a small fleet composed mainly of light aircraft, including two Britten-Norman Islanders and a Cessna 402. These aircraft are primarily used for surveillance, maritime patrol, and search and rescue missions. The ABDF Air Wing has limited military capabilities and does not possess advanced combat aircraft or sophisticated weaponry. Its primary focus is on maintaining airspace security, conducting border patrols, and assisting in disaster relief efforts. The Air Force frequently participates in regional exercises and training programs, often in collaboration with international partners, to enhance its operational capacity. As part of the larger ABDF, the Antigua and Barbuda Air Force plays a crucial role in supporting national defense and ensuring the safety of the country and its people.
